Ajith Kumar

Ajith Kumar, born on May 1, 1971, is a prominent Indian actor celebrated for his extensive work in Tamil cinema. With a filmography exceeding sixty-three films, he has garnered numerous accolades, including four Vijay Awards, three Cinema Express Awards, three Filmfare Awards South, and three Tamil Nadu State Film Awards. His journey in the film industry began with a minor role in the 1990 romantic drama En Veedu En Kanavar, but it was his performance in Aasai in 1995 that marked his ascent as a leading actor.

Ajith quickly established himself as a romantic hero with notable films such as Kadhal Kottai, Kaadhal Mannan, and Aval Varuvala, all released in the late 1990s. His transition to action hero status began with Amarkkalam in 1999, and his dual portrayal of twin brothers in Vaalee earned him his first Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Tamil. His versatility was further showcased in the vigilante film Citizen and the action-packed Villain, both of which solidified his reputation in the industry.

In 2006, Ajith starred in Varalaru, where he played three distinct roles, including that of a classical Bharatanatyam dancer.
