Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Akwasi Afrifa

Akwasi Afrifa, born on April twenty-four, nineteen thirty-six, was a prominent Ghanaian soldier, farmer, traditional ruler, and politician. He rose to prominence as the head of state of Ghana, leading the military government in nineteen sixty-nine. His leadership extended to serving as the chairman of the Presidential Commission from nineteen sixty-nine to nineteen seventy, during which he played a crucial role in shaping the nation's political landscape.

In addition to his military and political endeavors, Afrifa was deeply rooted in agriculture, continuing his work as a farmer while remaining an active political figure. His commitment to public service was evident when he was elected as a member of Parliament in nineteen seventy-nine. Tragically, he was executed before he could assume his seat, a fate he shared with two other former heads of state, General Kutu Acheampong and General Fred Akuffo, along with five other generals in June nineteen seventy-nine.

Akwasi Afrifa was affectionately known by his title, Okatakyie Akwasi Amankwaa Afrifa. He also held the esteemed position of abakomahene of Krobo in the Asante-Mampong Traditional Area of the Ashanti Region of Ghana, reflecting his significant influence both in governance and traditional leadership.
