Al Di Meola

Al Di Meola, born on July twenty-second, nineteen fifty-four, is a distinguished American guitarist and composer celebrated for his contributions to jazz fusion and world music. His career took off in nineteen seventy-four when he joined Chick Corea's renowned group, Return to Forever, marking a pivotal moment in his musical journey.

Following his tenure with Corea, Di Meola embarked on a solo career in nineteen seventy-six that garnered both commercial success and critical acclaim. His work is characterized by technical mastery and intricate compositions, with a notable emphasis on Latin music influences. Among his most celebrated albums are 'Elegant Gypsy' and the collaborative project 'Friday Night in San Francisco,' as well as the World Sinfonia trilogy.

An alumnus of the prestigious Berklee College of Music, Di Meola has also been recognized with a Grammy Award. His illustrious career features collaborations with a host of prominent musicians, including Stanley Clarke, Larry Coryell, Steve Winwood, Jaco Pastorius, Paco de Lucía, Bill Bruford, John McLaughlin, Jan Hammer, and Jean-Luc Ponty, among others.
