Al-Muqtadi

Al-Muqtadi, born on July twenty-fourth in the year one thousand fifty-six, was a prominent figure in the history of the Abbasid Caliphate. Known by his regnal name, which translates to 'the follower' in Arabic, he ascended to the caliphate in Baghdad in the year one thousand seventy-five, following in the footsteps of his grandfather, Caliph al-Qa'im. His reign lasted until February of one thousand ninety-four, marking him as the twenty-seventh Abbasid caliph.

During his time as caliph, Al-Muqtadi was not only a political leader but also a poet, showcasing his literary talents alongside his governance.
