Al-Mustansir

Al-Mustansir, whose full title is al-Mustansir billah, meaning 'he who seeks victory in God,' is a significant regnal surname in Islamic history. This title has been adopted by various notable figures across different dynasties, each contributing to the rich tapestry of Muslim leadership.

Among the most prominent bearers of this title is al-Mustansir Billah, the eighth Fatimid Imam-Caliph, who reigned from one thousand twenty-nine to one thousand ninety-four. His leadership marked a pivotal era in the Fatimid dynasty, influencing both religious and political landscapes.

Another notable figure is Al-Mustansir Billah II, who served as the thirty-second Nizari imam from one thousand four hundred sixty-three to one thousand four hundred eighty. His tenure, along with that of Al-Mustansir Billah III, the thirty-fourth Nizari imam, who ruled from one thousand four hundred ninety-three to one thousand four hundred ninety-eight, reflects the enduring legacy of the Mustansir title within the Nizari community.
