Alana Ramsay

Alana Ramsay, a remarkable Canadian paralympic alpine skier, was born on December twenty-second, nineteen ninety-four, in Calgary, Alberta. From a young age, she faced the challenges of cerebral palsy, a condition resulting from a stroke at birth. However, her indomitable spirit led her to the slopes, where she began skiing at the tender age of six.

Ramsay's dedication and talent quickly became evident as she made her mark on the Para-Alpine World Cup circuit during the 2015/16 season, achieving her first podium finish. Her exceptional performances earned her the prestigious title of Canadian Ski Racing Female Para Alpine Athlete of the Year in both twenty-sixteen and twenty-seventeen, solidifying her status as a leading figure in the sport.

Throughout her illustrious career, Ramsay has proudly represented Canada in three Paralympic Games. At the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Paralympics, she showcased her skills by winning bronze medals in both the super-G and super combined events. Continuing her success, she added two more bronze medals to her collection at the 2022 Beijing Winter Paralympics, excelling in the super combined standing and super-G standing events.

In twenty twenty-two, after an impressive career filled with achievements, Ramsay announced her retirement ahead of the twenty twenty-two to twenty twenty-three race season, leaving behind a legacy of inspiration and determination for future athletes.
