Albert H. Robinson

Albert Henry Robinson, born on January 2, 1881, was a prominent Canadian landscape painter whose artistic journey left an indelible mark on the Canadian art scene. He was not only an invited contributor to the inaugural Group of Seven exhibition in 1920 but also played a pivotal role as a founding member of both the Beaver Hall Group and the Canadian Group of Painters in 1933.

Robinson's painting style was characterized by a unique approach to landscape, drawing inspiration from the rolling rhythms of nature, akin to the techniques of his contemporary A.Y. Jackson. The two often collaborated on painting excursions to Quebec, where Robinson developed his distinctive palette, incorporating vibrant hues of coral, pink, and dark blue.
