Albert Jay Nock

Albert Jay Nock, born on October thirteenth, eighteen seventy, was a prominent American libertarian author and social critic whose influence resonated throughout the early and middle twentieth century. He began his career as an editor for The Nation before moving on to The Freeman, where he articulated his views on individual liberty and societal structures.

As an educational theorist and Georgist, Nock was known for his critical stance against the New Deal, which he believed undermined personal freedoms. His writings inspired a generation of libertarians and conservatives, with notable figures such as William F. Buckley Jr. citing him as a significant influence.

Nock was among the first Americans to embrace the label of
