Alberto Núñez Feijóo

Alberto Núñez Feijóo, born on September tenth, nineteen sixty-one, is a prominent Spanish politician and jurist. He has made significant contributions to the political landscape of Spain, particularly as a member of the Congress of Deputies and as the president of the People's Party. His political journey includes a notable tenure as the President of the Autonomous Government of Galicia from two thousand nine to two thousand twenty-two.

Feijóo's career began in civil service, where he held the position of secretary general in Galicia's ministries of agriculture and health. He later transitioned to the national level, serving in the same capacity at the Ministry of Health. His leadership skills were further recognized when he became the President of the State Society of Mail and Telegraphs for three years.

In two thousand five, Feijóo officially joined the People's Party of Galicia (PPdeG) and entered the Parliament of Galicia. He succeeded Manuel Fraga as party president in January of the following year. Under his leadership, the PPdeG achieved a majority in the two thousand nine Galician regional election, leading to his appointment as regional president. He successfully won re-election in two thousand twelve, two thousand sixteen, and two thousand twenty.

In two thousand twenty-two, Feijóo was confirmed as the successor to Pablo Casado as the president of the People's Party. Following this, he resigned from his regional parliament and presidency roles, taking a seat in the Senate as one of the senators designated by the Galician parliament. His political stance has been characterized as moderate, particularly until his recent appointment as the national party leader.
