Aleksandar Mitrović

Aleksandar Mitrović, born on September 16, 1994, is a distinguished Serbian professional footballer who currently plays as a striker for Al Rayyan in the Qatar Stars League. He also serves as the captain of the Serbia national team, showcasing his leadership on the international stage.

Mitrović began his football journey at Partizan, where he developed through the youth ranks before turning professional after a loan spell at Teleoptik. His talent quickly shone through as he became a key player in his first season, contributing to the team's triumph in the Serbian SuperLiga. At just eighteen, he was recognized as one of Europe's top ten talents under nineteen by UEFA reporters, a testament to his potential.

In pursuit of greater challenges, he transferred to Anderlecht for a club record fee of five million euros. During his two seasons there, he netted forty-four goals in ninety appearances, helping the club secure the Belgian Pro League title in his debut season and finishing as the league's top scorer in his second. His impressive performances caught the attention of Newcastle United, who signed him for thirteen million pounds in 2015.

Mitrović's career continued to flourish as he was loaned to Fulham in 2018, where he played a pivotal role in their promotion to the Premier League. He later joined the club permanently, amassing over one hundred goals during his six seasons with Fulham, solidifying his status as a prolific striker.

On the international front, Mitrović was instrumental in Serbia's victory at the 2013 European Under-19 Championship, earning the title of best player of the tournament.
