Aleksandr Dvornikov

Aleksandr Dvornikov, born on August twenty-second, nineteen sixty-one, is a retired officer of the Russian Ground Forces, renowned for his pivotal role in military operations. His career began in nineteen seventy-eight when he joined the Soviet Army, and over the next thirty years, he ascended through the ranks of both the Soviet and Russian military, establishing a formidable reputation.

In two thousand fifteen, Dvornikov was appointed as the first field commander of the Russian military intervention in Syria. His leadership during this period was marked by a reputation for the rigorous conduct of military campaigns, reminiscent of his earlier actions in Chechnya. His efforts earned him the prestigious title of Hero of the Russian Federation in two thousand sixteen, and he was promoted to the rank of general of the army in two thousand twenty.

As the commander of the Southern Military District in February two thousand twenty-two, Dvornikov played a crucial role in the Russo-Ukrainian war, leading the southern front during its initial phase. His strategies were noted for their effectiveness, making this front the most successful at the onset of the conflict. By April two thousand twenty-two, U.S. officials reported that he had been placed in charge of all Russian forces in Ukraine, although this appointment was never officially confirmed.

In May two thousand twenty-two, reports indicated that Dvornikov was replaced by Colonel General Gennady Zhidko, and he subsequently stepped down from his position in the Southern Military District in January two thousand twenty-three, with Colonel General Sergey Kuzovlev taking over. Beyond his military engagements, Dvornikov has contributed to military literature, writing extensively on tactics and training in various Russian military journals. From February to December two thousand twenty-four, he served as the chairman of DOSAAF of Russia.
