Goryachkina's journey in competitive chess reached a pivotal moment when she became the challenger in the 2020 Women's World Championship match, where she faced Ju Wenjun and ultimately lost in rapid tiebreaks.

Her accolades include being a three-time Russian Women's Chess Champion, a title she earned in the years two thousand fifteen, two thousand seventeen, and two thousand twenty. In August twenty twenty-three, she triumphed at the Women's Chess World Cup, defeating Nurgyul Salimova in a tense tie-break match.
