Alenka Gotar

Alenka Gotar, a talented Slovene soprano, was born in Rodica on February third, nineteen seventy-seven. Her passion for music and exceptional vocal abilities have made her a prominent figure in the world of opera.

In two thousand seven, Alenka represented Slovenia at the Eurovision Song Contest held in Helsinki, Finland. With her captivating performance of the song "Cvet z juga" ("Flower of the South"), she made history by becoming the first Slovene artist to qualify for the grand final.

Alenka's journey in the competition was remarkable; she achieved seventh place in the semi-final and ultimately finished fifteenth in the grand final, earning sixty-six points. Her participation not only showcased her talent but also brought Slovene music to a broader audience.
