Alex Rodriguez

Born on July 27, 1975, Alex Rodriguez, often known as A-Rod, is a former professional baseball player and current baseball commentator. He began his illustrious career with the Seattle Mariners, where he was drafted first overall in the 1993 MLB draft and made his major league debut at just eighteen years old. Rodriguez quickly established himself as a cornerstone of the franchise, becoming the starting shortstop in 1996, winning the major league batting title, and finishing as a runner-up for the American League MVP Award.

In 2001, Rodriguez signed a groundbreaking ten-year contract worth two hundred fifty-two million dollars with the Texas Rangers, the richest in baseball history at that time. He continued to excel, winning his first AL MVP Award in 2003. However, despite his individual success, the Rangers did not reach the playoffs during his tenure.
