Alex Stieda

Alex Stieda, born on April thirteenth, nineteen sixty-one, is a distinguished former professional road bicycle racer hailing from Canada. His remarkable career is highlighted by his historic achievement during the second day of the nineteen eighty-six Tour de France, where he led five classifications: the general classification, mountains classification, combination classification, intermediate sprints classification, and young rider classification. This remarkable feat made him the first North American to take the lead in the prestigious race.

Stieda's participation in the Tour de France was with the 7-Eleven – Hoonved Cycling Team, where he ultimately finished in one hundred twentieth place, marking this as his sole appearance in the event. Beyond the Tour, he showcased his talent on the international stage, earning a bronze medal at the nineteen eighty-two Australian Commonwealth Games and competing for Canada at the nineteen eighty-four Summer Olympics.
