Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Alexander Acosta

Alexander Acosta, born on January sixteenth, nineteen sixty-nine, is a prominent American lawyer and politician known for his significant contributions to labor law and civil rights. He served as the twenty-seventh United States Secretary of Labor from two thousand seventeen to two thousand nineteen during the presidency of Donald Trump. A member of the Republican Party, Acosta's career has spanned various high-profile roles, including his tenure as a member of the National Labor Relations Board and as the Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice.

Before his appointment as Secretary of Labor, Acosta held the position of United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida. In this role, he oversaw a controversial federal investigation into financier Jeffrey Epstein, which culminated in a non-prosecution agreement that allowed Epstein to plead guilty to lesser charges. This decision, which granted immunity from federal prosecution, faced intense scrutiny following Epstein's later arrest on federal sex trafficking charges, leading to widespread criticism of Acosta's handling of the case.

Despite defending his actions as a strategic move to secure a conviction, Acosta faced bipartisan backlash, ultimately leading to his resignation from the Secretary of Labor position in July two thousand nineteen. Following his departure from public office, he transitioned into the private sector and, in March two thousand twenty-five, joined the board of directors of Newsmax, where he currently chairs the audit committee.
