Alexander Koshetz, born on August thirty-first, eighteen seventy-five, was a prominent Ukrainian choral conductor, ethnographer, and musicologist. His multifaceted career spanned various roles, including composer and lecturer, through which he made significant contributions to the popularization of Ukrainian music on a global scale.
As a conductor, Koshetz led the Ukrainian National Chorus, which at one point set a world record for audience attendance at a non-sporting event. His innovative performances not only showcased the richness of Ukrainian choral traditions but also introduced international audiences to the works of notable composers, including Mykola Leontovych.
One of Koshetz's most notable achievements was his performance of Leontovych's
