Alexander von Falkenhausen

Alexander von Falkenhausen, born on October twenty-ninth, eighteen seventy-eight, was a distinguished German general and military advisor whose influence extended far beyond the borders of his homeland. He played a pivotal role in the Sino-German cooperation aimed at reforming the Chinese army, working closely with the Chinese leader Chiang Kai-shek. His expertise and strategic insights were instrumental during a critical period of military modernization in China.

However, the tides of international relations shifted dramatically in nineteen thirty-eight when Germany, under pressure from Japan, withdrew its support for China. This abrupt change forced Falkenhausen to return to Europe, marking a significant turning point in his career. Upon his return, Falkenhausen was appointed as the head of the military government of Belgium, a position he held from nineteen forty to nineteen forty-four during the German occupation.
