Alexandra Burke

Alexandra Burke, born on August twenty-fifth, nineteen eighty-eight, is a celebrated English singer, songwriter, and actress. She rose to fame after winning the fifth series of the popular talent show The X Factor in two thousand eight. Following her victory, Burke was signed to Syco Music, where she released her winner's single, 'Hallelujah'. This remarkable track set a European record by selling one hundred five thousand copies in just twenty-four hours, becoming the top-selling single in the UK for two thousand eight and securing the coveted Christmas number one spot.

In two thousand nine, Burke launched her debut studio album, Overcome, which debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart. The album produced four number-one singles on both the UK and Irish Singles Charts, including 'Hallelujah', 'Bad Boys', 'All Night Long', and 'Start Without You'. Her impressive work earned her three nominations for the BRIT Awards. Additionally, the album featured UK top ten hits such as 'Broken Heels' and 'The Silence'.

Burke's second studio album, Heartbreak on Hold, was released in two thousand twelve, with the lead single 'Elephant' reaching number three on the UK Singles Chart. In June two thousand fourteen, she took over the lead role of Rachel Marron in the West End musical The Bodyguard, touring with the production in subsequent years. In two thousand sixteen, she starred in a twelve-month residency of Sister Act the Musical as Deloris Van Cartier. Burke also showcased her dancing skills in the BBC show Strictly Come Dancing in two thousand seventeen, where she and her partner Gorka Márquez finished as runners-up.
