Between nineteen fifty-six and nineteen seventy-one, Zabelina's prowess was further demonstrated as she clinched eight team and two individual world titles in foil fencing. Her competitive spirit shone brightly at the world championships, where she earned individual silver medals in nineteen sixty-one and nineteen sixty-six, alongside team silver medals in nineteen fifty-nine, nineteen sixty-two, nineteen sixty-seven, and nineteen sixty-nine.

Despite her impressive achievements, Zabelina faced a significant personal challenge when she missed the nineteen sixty-four Summer Olympics due to her pregnancy. Initially training in gymnastics, she transitioned to fencing after an injury curtailed her gymnastics career.
