Alexis Copello

Alexis Copello, born on August twelfth, nineteen eighty-five, is a distinguished Cuban-Azerbaijani triple jumper who has made a significant mark in the world of athletics. Since two thousand seventeen, he has proudly represented Azerbaijan on the international stage, showcasing his exceptional talent and dedication to the sport.

Copello's journey in athletics began with notable achievements at the regional level. He earned a silver medal in the triple jump at the two thousand six Central American and Caribbean Games, followed by a bronze at the two thousand eight Central American and Caribbean Championships. His Olympic debut came in the same year when he competed for Cuba at the Beijing Summer Olympics, where he finished thirteenth overall with a jump of seventeen point zero nine metres.

In two thousand nine, Copello reached new heights, winning gold at the Central American and Caribbean Championships with a championship record of seventeen point thirty-three metres. His remarkable performance continued at the twelfth IAAF World Championships in Athletics held in Berlin, where he secured a bronze medal with a jump of seventeen point thirty-six metres, finishing behind Phillips Idowu and Nelson Évora.
