Alfred Perot

Alfred Perot, born on November third, eighteen sixty-three, was a distinguished French physicist renowned for his significant contributions to the field of optics.

In collaboration with his esteemed colleague Charles Fabry, Perot co-developed the Fabry–Pérot interferometer in eighteen ninety-nine, a groundbreaking instrument that has since become essential in various scientific applications.

His remarkable work did not go unrecognized; in nineteen twelve, the French Academy of Sciences honored him with the prestigious Janssen Medal. Furthermore, in nineteen eighteen, both Perot and Fabry were awarded the Rumford Medal by the Royal Society, acknowledging their exceptional contributions to the advancement of physics.
