Ali Khalif Galaydh

Ali Khalif Galaydh, born on 15 October 1941, was a prominent Somali politician who played a pivotal role in the country's transitional government. He served as the first Prime Minister of the transitional Somalia administration from 8 October 2000 to 28 October 2001, during a critical period in Somalia's history.

With a wealth of experience in public policy, diplomacy, and public administration, Galaydh was not only a politician but also an educator. He imparted his knowledge in these fields at various public universities across the United States, influencing a generation of students and future leaders.

In addition to his political career, Galaydh held the esteemed position of president of the Khaatumo state. His leadership was marked by significant efforts to foster peace and stability in the region. In 2017, he took a notable step by signing an agreement with the Somaliland government aimed at amending Somaliland's constitution, a move that was intended to promote harmony in the regions of Sool, Sanaag, and Cayn.
