Ali Tarhouni

Ali Tarhouni, born in 1951, is a prominent Libyan economist and politician known for his significant contributions to the country's governance during a pivotal time in its history. With a background in academia, he has also served as a university teacher, imparting knowledge and expertise to future generations.

In 2011, during the Libyan revolution, Tarhouni took on a crucial role as the minister for oil and finance on the National Transitional Council. His tenure lasted from March twenty-third to November twenty-second, where he played a vital part in shaping Libya's economic policies amidst the turmoil.

For a brief period, from October twenty-third to October thirty-first, he stepped into the role of interim prime minister, filling the gap left by outgoing incumbent Mahmoud Jibril. This transition was a critical moment for Libya as the nation sought stability and direction during a time of change.
