Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Alison Redford

Alison Redford, born on March seventh, nineteen sixty-five, is a distinguished Canadian lawyer and former politician who made history as the fourteenth premier of Alberta. Her tenure spanned from October seventh, two thousand eleven, to March twenty-third, two thousand fourteen, marking her as the first female premier in the province's history and the eighth woman to hold such a position in Canada.

Raised in Kitimat, British Columbia, Redford's early life saw her moving across Canada and even overseas before she settled in Calgary during her teenage years. Her political journey began in earnest when she was elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Calgary-Elbow in the two thousand eight provincial election. She quickly rose through the ranks, serving as the Minister of Justice and Attorney General under Premier Ed Stelmach.

Redford's leadership of the Progressive Conservative Association of Alberta culminated in a significant victory in the two thousand twelve provincial election, further solidifying her role in Alberta's political landscape. Despite her achievements, her time in office was notably the shortest among Alberta premiers with an elected mandate.

On March nineteenth, two thousand fourteen, Redford announced her resignation as premier, effective March twenty-third, two thousand fourteen, and was succeeded by Deputy Premier Dave Hancock on an interim basis. She later resigned as an MLA on August sixth, two thousand fourteen, concluding her formal political career.
