Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Allen Dulles

Allen Dulles, born on April seventh, nineteen ninety-three, was a prominent American lawyer and diplomat who made significant contributions to the field of intelligence. He served as the first civilian director of central intelligence (DCI) and holds the record for the longest tenure in this role. During the early years of the Cold War, Dulles led the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), overseeing critical operations that shaped U.S. foreign policy.

Among his notable actions were the orchestration of the 1953 Iranian coup d'état and the 1954 Guatemalan coup d'état, as well as the controversial Project MKUltra mind control program. His leadership faced scrutiny following the Bay of Pigs Invasion in nineteen sixty-one, which ended in failure and led to his resignation at the behest of President John F. Kennedy. Dulles was succeeded by John McCone, who took over for the remainder of Kennedy's administration.

After stepping down from the CIA, Dulles was appointed to the Warren Commission, which was tasked with investigating the assassination of President Kennedy. His involvement in the commission raised questions about potential conflicts of interest, given his previous dismissal by Kennedy and his former role as head of the CIA. Although the 1979 House Select Committee on Assassinations concluded that the CIA was not involved in the assassination, debates continue regarding the agency's internal knowledge and Dulles's influence on the commission's findings.

In addition to his government service, Dulles was a corporate lawyer and a partner at the prestigious firm Sullivan & Cromwell. He was also the brother of John Foster Dulles, who served as Secretary of State during the Eisenhower administration and is honored through the naming of Dulles International Airport.
