Alvah Meyer

Alvah T. Meyer, born on July 18, 1888, in New York City, was a prominent American sprint runner known for his remarkable speed and athletic prowess. As a member of the Irish American Athletic Club, he shared the track with notable athletes such as Abel Kiviat and Myer Prinstein, contributing to a vibrant community of competitive runners.

Prior to the 1912 Olympics, Meyer showcased his exceptional talent by clinching the AAU indoor 60-yard title in 1911. His success continued into 1912 when he triumphed in the outdoor 220-yard event, solidifying his reputation as a formidable competitor in the sprinting arena.
