From two thousand fifteen, Annan took on the role of head coach for the Netherlands women's national field hockey team. Under her leadership, the team achieved significant milestones, including a silver medal at the two thousand sixteen Summer Olympics in Brazil and a gold medal at the two thousand twenty Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Additionally, she guided the team to gold medals at the Women's EuroHockey Nations Championship in two thousand seventeen and two thousand twenty-one.

In two thousand twenty-two, Annan faced a challenging moment in her career when she was dismissed from her coaching position due to allegations of fostering a culture of fear within the team. Despite this setback, she remains a respected figure in the sport.
