Alyson Annan

Alyson Annan, born on June twenty-first, nineteen seventy-three, is a distinguished Australian field hockey coach and a retired player. With an impressive tally of two hundred twenty-eight international caps for the Women's national team, she scored a remarkable one hundred sixty-six goals throughout her career.

From two thousand fifteen, Annan took on the role of head coach for the Netherlands women's national field hockey team. Under her leadership, the team achieved significant milestones, including a silver medal at the two thousand sixteen Summer Olympics in Brazil and a gold medal at the two thousand twenty Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Additionally, she guided the team to gold medals at the Women's EuroHockey Nations Championship in two thousand seventeen and two thousand twenty-one.

In two thousand twenty-two, Annan faced a challenging moment in her career when she was dismissed from her coaching position due to allegations of fostering a culture of fear within the team. Despite this setback, she remains a respected figure in the sport.

In recognition of her contributions to field hockey, Annan was inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame in two thousand thirteen. Currently, she serves as the head coach of the China women's national field hockey team, continuing to influence the sport on an international level.
