Amber Ruffin

Amber Ruffin, born on January 9, 1979, is a multifaceted American comedian, writer, and actress known for her sharp wit and engaging storytelling. She made history as the first Black woman to write for a late-night network talk show in the United States when she joined 'Late Night with Seth Meyers' in 2014. Her unique perspective and humor have made her a standout figure in the entertainment industry.

In 2020, Amber launched her own late-night talk show, 'The Amber Ruffin Show,' on Peacock, which ran until 2022. The show showcased her comedic talents and provided a platform for her to address important social issues with humor and grace. Her work has resonated with audiences, further solidifying her place in the world of comedy.

Amber is also an accomplished author. In January 2021, she co-authored the book 'You'll Never Believe What Happened to Lacey: Crazy Stories about Racism' with her sister Lacey Lamar, which quickly became a New York Times Best Seller. Following this success, they released a second book, 'The World Record Book of Racist Stories,' in 2022, continuing to explore themes of race and identity through humor.

In addition to her writing and acting, Amber co-founded the production company Straight to Cards with her writing partner Jenny Hagel in 2022, under an overall deal with Universal Television.
