Ana Blandiana

Ana Blandiana, born on March twenty-fifth, nineteen forty-two, is a distinguished Romanian poet, essayist, and political figure. Her literary journey is deeply intertwined with her roots, as she adopted her name from Blandiana, a village near Vințu de Jos in Alba County, which is her mother's hometown.

Throughout her career, Blandiana has made significant contributions to literature, encompassing poetry, journalism, essays, children's literature, and translation. Her multifaceted talent has earned her recognition both in Romania and internationally.

In October two thousand seventeen, she was honored with the Lifetime Recognition Award from The Griffin Trust For Excellence In Poetry, marking a significant milestone in her illustrious career. Furthermore, her literary achievements were celebrated in October two thousand twenty-four when she received the prestigious Princess of Asturias Award.
