Anahita Ratebzad

Anahita Ratebzad, born on October first, nineteen thirty-one, was a prominent Afghan diplomat, physician, and politician. She played a significant role in the political landscape of Afghanistan as a member of the People's Democratic Party of Afghanistan (PDPA), specifically within the Parcham faction. Her commitment to socialist and Marxist-Leninist ideologies shaped her political career and influence.

Ratebzad made history as one of the first women elected to the Afghan parliament, breaking barriers in a male-dominated political arena. Her dedication to public service led her to serve as the deputy head of state from nineteen eighty to nineteen eighty-six, during which she was a key figure in the Revolutionary Council under the leadership of Babrak Karmal.
