Anastasia Bucsis

Anastasia Bucsis, born on April 30, 1989, is a distinguished Canadian former long track speed skater who has made significant contributions to the world of sports both on and off the ice. She proudly represented Canada at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and again at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, where she competed in the women's 500-metre event.

Beyond her athletic achievements, Bucsis is known for her courageous stance against discrimination. Prior to the 2014 Sochi Games, she publicly came out in opposition to Russian anti-LGBTQ laws, using her platform to advocate for equality and acceptance in sports.
