Anders Lindegaard, born on April 13, 1984, is a former professional footballer from Denmark who made his mark as a skilled goalkeeper. He began his football journey with Odense Boldklub, his hometown club, but soon sought greater opportunities, leading him to Aalesund in Norway in 2009. During his time there, he achieved notable success, including winning the Norwegian Football Cup.
In 2010, Lindegaard's impressive performances earned him the Goalkeeper of the Year award in both Denmark and Norway. This recognition paved the way for his transfer to Manchester United, where he spent five years. Initially serving as a backup to Edwin van der Sar and later to David de Gea, he contributed to the team's success by winning the Premier League title and two Community Shields.
After his tenure at Manchester United, Lindegaard joined West Bromwich Albion in 2015, but struggled to secure a place in the starting lineup. He then moved to Preston North End in January 2016, initially on loan, before signing with Burnley in September 2017.
On the international stage, Lindegaard represented Denmark at the under-19 and under-20 levels before making his senior debut on September 7, 2010, against Iceland. Over the course of his international career, he earned five caps for the national team, showcasing his talent on a larger platform.
