André Alexis

André Alexis, a distinguished Canadian writer, was born on January fifteenth, nineteen fifty-seven, in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. He spent his formative years in Ottawa and currently resides in Toronto, Ontario. His literary journey has been marked by a series of accolades, including the prestigious Windham-Campbell Literature Prize, the Giller Prize, the Rogers Writers' Trust Fiction Prize, and the Trillium Award. In two thousand twenty-six, he is set to receive a fellowship from the Guggenheim Foundation.

Best known for his Quincunx Cycle, a compelling series of five novels set in and around Southern Ontario, Alexis has carved a niche for himself in the literary world. His second book in this cycle, Fifteen Dogs, garnered the Giller Prize in two thousand fifteen, significantly elevating his profile and the visibility of his work.
