André Arthur

André Arthur, born on December twenty-first, nineteen forty-three, was a prominent Canadian radio personality and politician. He served as the independent Member of Parliament for the riding of Portneuf—Jacques-Cartier from two thousand six to two thousand eleven. Arthur was a significant figure in Quebec's media landscape, often referred to as the 'godfather' of radio poubelle, a style of politically conservative radio that gained traction in Quebec City.

Known for his outspoken and often controversial style, Arthur's right-of-center politics stood in stark contrast to the predominantly left-of-center sentiments of his province. His bold commentary and unique approach to broadcasting earned him a loyal following, leading to his affectionate nickname, le Roi Arthur, or 'King Arthur'.

Despite his popularity, Arthur's career was not without its challenges. In two thousand eighteen, he faced backlash for his remarks regarding a road in the LGBT district of Quebec City, which ultimately led to his dismissal from his radio hosting position.
