Andrea Dovizioso

Andrea Dovizioso, born on March 23, 1986, is a distinguished Italian former professional motorcycle racer renowned for his remarkable career in the MotoGP circuit. He made his mark in the sport by clinching the 125cc World Championship title in 2004, showcasing his exceptional talent early on. Dovizioso's journey through the ranks saw him finishing third in the 250cc World Championship in 2005 and becoming a runner-up to Jorge Lorenzo in both 2006 and 2007.

Making his MotoGP debut in 2008, Dovizioso quickly established himself as a formidable competitor, finishing fifth in the standings as the top satellite rider. His impressive performance earned him a spot with the Factory Honda team in 2009, where he achieved fifteen podiums and celebrated his first MotoGP victory at Donington Park. Over the next few years, he continued to excel, moving to Monster Yamaha Tech 3 in 2012 and later to the Factory Ducati team in 2013.

During his tenure with Ducati, Dovizioso became a title contender, finishing as the championship runner-up to Marc Márquez for three consecutive seasons from 2017 to 2019. His ability to secure victories was evident as he amassed a total of fifteen wins and sixty-two podiums throughout his career, solidifying his status as one of the most successful modern MotoGP riders. Notably, he is the only rider in history to win a MotoGP race across three different decades: the 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s.

Despite his numerous accolades, Dovizioso is often regarded as one of the best riders to never win the MotoGP World Championship. His calculated riding style earned him the nickname 'the Professor,' reflecting his strategic approach to racing. After a challenging 2022 season with the WithU Yamaha RNF MotoGP Team, he announced his intended retirement following the Misano round in September, marking the end of an illustrious career.
