Andrea Masiello

Andrea Masiello, born on February fifth, nineteen eighty-six, is an Italian professional footballer renowned for his role as a centre-back. Currently, he plays for the Serie B club Südtirol, where he continues to showcase his skills on the pitch.

Throughout his career, Masiello has garnered attention not only for his defensive capabilities but also for a controversial incident during his time at Bari. He became widely known for his involvement in match-fixing during the Derby of Puglia, where he infamously scored an own goal that aided Lecce's survival in Serie A.

This incident led to a significant consequence in Masiello's career, as he faced a ban of twenty-six months for his participation in selling matches, including Salernitana–Bari, Bari–Sampdoria, Palermo–Bari, Bari–Lecce, and Bologna–Bari.
