Andrei Kirilenko

Andrei Kirilenko, born on February eighteenth, nineteen eighty-one, is a distinguished former professional basketball player known for his remarkable career in both the NBA and European leagues. He began his journey in the Russian Basketball Super League at the tender age of fifteen, showcasing his talent with CSKA Moscow from nineteen ninety-eight to two thousand, where he earned the league MVP honors in two thousand.

In nineteen ninety-nine, Kirilenko made history by being selected as the twenty-fourth overall pick in the NBA draft by the Utah Jazz, becoming the first Russian player to be chosen in the first round and the youngest European player ever drafted. He joined the Jazz in two thousand and remained with the team until two thousand eleven, during which he was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team, recognized as an NBA All-Defensive Team member three times, and participated in the two thousand four All-Star Game. Notably, he led the league in blocked shots during the two thousand four to two thousand five season.

Following the NBA lockout in two thousand eleven, Kirilenko returned to Russia to play for CSKA Moscow, leading them to the EuroLeague Final in two thousand twelve.
