Andrew Yang

Andrew Yang, born on January thirteenth, nineteen seventy-five, is a prominent American entrepreneur, lawyer, and political commentator. Raised in New York state as the son of Taiwanese American immigrants, Yang's educational journey took him through Brown University and Columbia Law School, where he honed his skills before embarking on a career that would see him transition from law to entrepreneurship.

In two thousand twenty, Yang emerged as a candidate in the Democratic Party presidential primaries, advocating for a groundbreaking policy of a monthly universal basic income of one thousand dollars. This initiative aimed to address the challenges posed by job displacement due to automation. His campaign, characterized by a unique blend of innovative ideas and grassroots support, garnered significant attention, leading to his participation in seven of the first eight Democratic debates.

Despite being labeled a dark horse and a novelty candidate, Yang's rise in the political arena was marked by the enthusiastic backing of his supporters, affectionately known as the 'Yang Gang.' However, he suspended his campaign on February eleventh, two thousand twenty, shortly after the New Hampshire primary. Following this, he joined CNN as a political commentator and founded the nonprofit organization Humanity Forward, furthering his commitment to social issues.

In October two thousand twenty-one, Yang made a significant shift by leaving the Democratic Party to become an independent politician. He expressed his discomfort with the increasing polarization within the political system, stating a preference for attempting to reform it rather than merely participating in it. Later that month, he founded the Forward Party, a centrist political organization aimed at providing a viable alternative to the traditional two-party system in the United States.
