Andrey Korotayev, born on February seventeenth, nineteen sixty-one, is a distinguished Russian scholar whose expertise spans multiple disciplines including economics, anthropology, and political science. His significant contributions to world-systems theory and cross-cultural studies have established him as a leading figure in the fields of economic history and demography.
Currently, he serves as the Director of the Centre for Stability and Risk Analysis at HSE University in Moscow. In addition to this role, he holds the position of Senior Research Professor at both the Center for Big History and System Forecasting of the Institute of Oriental Studies and the Institute for African Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Korotayev is also a full professor at the Faculty of Global Studies at Moscow State University and a senior research professor at the International Laboratory on Political Demography and Social Macrodynamics of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration. His editorial contributions include co-editing the journals Social Evolution & History and Journal of Globalization Studies, as well as the History & Mathematics yearbook.
