Andriy Deryzemlya

Andriy Deryzemlya, born on August eighteenth, nineteen seventy-seven, is a distinguished former Ukrainian biathlete who made his mark in the sport over an impressive eleven-season career. His dedication and skill culminated in a significant achievement when he secured a bronze medal at the 2007 World Championship, marking his first international accolade. In two thousand eight, he further showcased his talent by winning the World Team Challenge alongside teammate Oksana Khvostenko.

After concluding his athletic career at the end of the two thousand thirteen to fourteen season, Deryzemlya transitioned into the political arena. His foray into politics began with his candidacy in the two thousand fourteen parliamentary elections, where he contested in the single-mandate district No. 205 in Chernihiv Oblast. Despite a valiant effort, he finished second, garnering fourteen point one percent of the votes.

In addition to his political ambitions, Deryzemlya demonstrated his commitment to social causes by founding the Centre for Support of Army in August two thousand fourteen. His dedication to his country was further exemplified when, on November twenty-ninth, two thousand fourteen, he selflessly donated his own plot of land in Chernihiv to support the family of a Ukrainian soldier who had lost his life in the ongoing conflict in Donbas.
