Angela Phipps

Angela Phipps, born on February seventeenth, nineteen sixty-four, is a retired Canadian sprinter renowned for her prowess in the 100 and 200 metres events. Her athletic career is marked by significant achievements, including a silver medal at the 1985 Pacific Conference Games in the 100 metres.

In addition to her success in individual events, Phipps showcased her talent in relay competitions. She earned a silver medal in the 4 × 100 metres relay at the 1985 Pacific Conference Games and continued to excel, finishing fourth at the 1985 World Cup and securing another silver at the 1986 Commonwealth Games.

Phipps also represented Canada on the international stage at various championships. She finished sixth at the 1987 World Indoor Championships in the 200 metres and competed at the 1987 Pan American Games, where she placed seventh in the 100 metres and fourth in the 200 metres. Her participation in the 1987 World Championships in the 100 metres did not lead her to the finals, but she continued to strive for excellence.

Her Olympic journey included competing at the 1988 Summer Olympics, although she did not reach the final. Phipps honed her skills while running collegiately for the LSU Tigers, where she laid the foundation for her successful sprinting career.
