Angelica Bengtsson

Angelica Bengtsson, born on July 8, 1993, is a distinguished Swedish track and field athlete renowned for her exceptional skills in pole vaulting. She made history by becoming the first pole vault champion at the inaugural Summer Youth Olympics held in Singapore in 2010, showcasing her talent on an international stage.

Throughout her career, Bengtsson has achieved remarkable success, including gold medals at both the 2009 World Youth Championships and the 2010 World Junior Championships in Athletics. In 2010, she set a youth world record with an impressive vault of 4.47 meters, further solidifying her status as a rising star in the sport.

In 2011, Bengtsson broke the world junior record with a remarkable vault of 4.63 meters. Her prowess continued to shine as she tied for fourth place at the 2015 World Championships in Beijing, where she set a national record of 4.70 meters in the final. On February 24, 2019, she achieved a then-national record of 4.81 meters indoors in Clermont-Ferrand, demonstrating her continued excellence in pole vaulting.
