Angelino Alfano, born on October thirty-first, nineteen seventy, is a distinguished Italian lawyer and former politician. His political career is marked by significant roles in the Italian government, where he served as Minister of Foreign Affairs from December twelfth, two thousand sixteen, to June first, two thousand eighteen.
Prior to his tenure as Foreign Minister, Alfano held the position of Minister of the Interior from April twenty-eighth, two thousand thirteen, to December twelfth, two thousand sixteen. During this period, he was part of the administrations led by Matteo Renzi and Enrico Letta. Notably, he also served as Deputy Prime Minister of Italy from two thousand thirteen to two thousand fourteen, contributing to the Letta Cabinet.
Alfano's political journey began earlier when he was appointed Minister of Justice from two thousand eight to two thousand eleven under the Berlusconi IV Cabinet. He was the first and only secretary of the centre-right party The People of Freedom (PdL) from two thousand eleven to two thousand thirteen. In November two thousand thirteen, he became the leader of the New Centre-Right party, a faction that emerged from the PdL, until its dissolution in March two thousand seventeen, leading to the formation of Popular Alternative.
Remarkably, Alfano is the first Italian politician to have held the prestigious offices of Minister of Justice, Minister of the Interior, and Minister of Foreign Affairs, which are regarded as some of the most critical ministries within the Italian Cabinet.
