Angie Craig, born on February 14, 1972, is a prominent American politician and a member of the Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL). Since 2019, she has represented Minnesota's 2nd congressional district, which encompasses much of the southern suburbs of the Twin Cities and extends to the rural areas to the southwest. Her journey into politics is marked by her dedication to public service and advocacy for her constituents.

Raised in Arkansas, Craig's early career was rooted in journalism and corporate communications. In 2005, she relocated to Minnesota to take on a role at St. Jude Medical, which paved the way for her future in politics. Her initial foray into congressional politics came in 2016 when she ran for office but narrowly lost to Jason Lewis. However, she made a remarkable comeback in 2018, defeating Lewis in their rematch.

Craig holds the distinction of being the first openly LGBT+ member of Congress from Minnesota and the first lesbian mother to serve in this esteemed body. Her groundbreaking achievements have inspired many and highlighted the importance of representation in government. On April 29, 2025, she announced her candidacy for the United States Senate in the upcoming 2026 election, aiming to succeed Tina Smith.
