Anna Palm de Rosa, born on December twenty-fifth, eighteen fifty-nine, was a prominent Swedish artist renowned for her captivating landscape paintings. In the 1890s, she emerged as one of Sweden's most beloved painters, celebrated for her exquisite watercolours depicting steamers, sailing ships, and the vibrant scenes of Stockholm.
Her artistic journey took a memorable turn during a summer spent with the Skagen Painters, where she created a striking portrayal of a game of cards at Brøndums Hotel in Skagen. This experience not only enriched her artistic repertoire but also connected her with a community of influential artists.
At the age of thirty-six, Anna made a significant life change by leaving Sweden permanently. She relocated to the picturesque southern regions of Italy, where she continued to develop her art and eventually married an infantry officer, marking a new chapter in her life.
