Anna Paulina Luna

Anna Paulina Luna, born on May sixth, nineteen eighty-nine, is a prominent American politician and Air Force veteran, currently serving as the U.S. representative for Florida's thirteenth congressional district since twenty twenty-three. As a member of the Republican Party, she holds the distinction of being the first Mexican-American woman elected to Congress from Florida.

Her military career began at the age of nineteen when she joined the Air National Guard, serving as an airfield management specialist from two thousand nine to two thousand fourteen. For her dedicated service, she was honored with the Air Force Achievement Medal, showcasing her commitment to her country.

Luna graduated from the University of West Florida in two thousand seventeen. In her initial foray into politics, she ran against incumbent Democratic congressman Charlie Crist in twenty twenty but was unsuccessful. However, her perseverance paid off when she was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in twenty twenty-two, with the endorsement of former President Donald Trump during the Republican primary. She successfully secured reelection in twenty twenty-four.

During her time in Congress, Luna has been an active member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs and the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. Her voting record reflects her conservative values, maintaining a remarkable ninety-eight percent alignment with Heritage Action.
