Anne Lauber

Anne Lauber, born on July twenty-eighth, nineteen forty-three, is a distinguished Canadian composer, conductor, and music educator. She has made significant contributions to the music scene in Canada and is a proud member of the Canadian League of Composers, as well as an associate of the Canadian Music Centre.

Throughout her career, Lauber has received numerous commissions from prestigious organizations, including the Quebec Symphony Orchestra and the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. Her works have also been commissioned by the Canadian Music Competitions, the Canada Council, and the Ministère des Affaires culturelles du Québec, showcasing her versatility and talent in the field.

In nineteen eighty-five, Lauber achieved notable recognition by winning first prize for her composition, Arabesque, at the International Guitar Competition held in Marl, Germany. Her contributions to music were further acknowledged in two thousand seven when she was featured in the Eastman School of Music's Women in Music Festival.

Having become a naturalized Canadian citizen in nineteen seventy-two, Lauber has continued to inspire future generations of musicians. Her son, Tristan Lauber, has followed in her footsteps, achieving success as a concert pianist.
