Annette Echikunwoke

Annette Echikunwoke, born on July twenty-ninth, nineteen ninety-six, is a talented hammer thrower with dual Nigerian and American heritage. Currently residing in Ohio, she has made significant strides in her athletic career, showcasing her skills on the international stage.

Initially set to represent Nigeria at the 2020 Summer Olympics, Annette faced a setback when she was disqualified due to the negligence of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria. However, her determination led her to change her allegiance, and she proudly represented the United States at the 2024 Summer Olympics.

At the 2024 Games, Annette achieved a remarkable feat by winning a silver medal in the women's hammer throw event, marking a historic moment as the first Olympic medal for the U.S. in this category.
