Anthony Housefather, born in nineteen seventy, is a prominent Canadian politician, lawyer, and athlete. He has represented the riding of Mount Royal on the island of Montreal as a Member of Parliament since his election in October two thousand fifteen. His political journey began in nineteen ninety-four when he was elected as a municipal councillor in the Town of Hampstead.

In two thousand one, following a controversial merger of municipalities mandated by the Parti Québécois government, Housefather was elected as a municipal councillor in the borough of Côte Saint-Luc-Hampstead-Montreal West. He became a leading figure in the demerger movement, which culminated in a successful referendum on June twentieth, two thousand four. This victory led to his election as Mayor of Côte Saint-Luc, a position he held from two thousand five until two thousand fifteen.

Housefather's federal political career began with his election to Parliament in the Canadian federal election of two thousand fifteen. He served as the Chair of the Justice and Human Rights Committee from two thousand fifteen to two thousand nineteen. After the two thousand nineteen election, he was appointed Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Labour, and following the two thousand twenty-one federal election, he took on the role of Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Public Services and Procurement, a position he maintained until the fall of two thousand twenty-three.

In addition to his parliamentary roles, Housefather was appointed to the Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage and the Standing Committee on Operations and Estimates in two thousand twenty-one. In two thousand twenty-four, he advanced to become Parliamentary Secretary to the President of the Treasury Board, further solidifying his influence in Canadian politics.
